This absolutely stunning statement necklace features a genuine prehistoric Megalodon Tooth paired with a brilliant rutile quartz~ the silver behind the rutile quartz has been carefully removed so the sun can shine straight through the transparency, hitting the golden slivers of rutile inside of the quartz!
Each piece has been meticulously hand forged in .925 recycled sterling silver, by yours truly. Using recycled precious metals to create an everlasting heirloom piece not only benefits the wearer, but also benefits the Earth by reusing limited materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Sourcing both the metal and the precious gemstones as *ethically* as possible is highly important to my creative process. *** All shark teeth (including megalodon) pieces have been made with genuine shark teeth that I personally find on the beaches and in the rivers of South Florida. Most teeth are darker in color due to the fossilization thats taken place over 5-25 million years ago! Once the tooth has naturally fallen from the sharks mouth and hits the ocean floors, the minerals in the sediment can greatly affect the coloration of the tooth. Teeth colors will naturally range from black, grey, brown, tan and white!
